CLGEI is an eye institute also working in developing human resources for prevention of blindness and providing training to eye care professionals from across the India and abroad. Training and education are recognized as key factors that influence the reach, range and quality of eye health service delivery. Therefore, the Institute strives to provide the highest quality of training and education through a committed faculty, complemented with the advanced technological and methodological tools.
Medical Education Department of C L Gupta Eye Institute is an integrated department catering the educational needs of the institution and taking care of the training of long term and short term fellows, optometrists and nursing. It aims to provide its services in a manner that the institute's vision and mission can be taken care of. With a faculty eager to teach and to transfer skills the trainees have an edge.
This institute has provided training to 32 ophthalmology fellows (national and international) including 6 long term fellows in the fields of cataract, cornea and refractive surgery, comprehensive ophthalmology, glaucoma, pediatric ophthalmology, medical and surgical retina. The Institute, also has trained over 500 students from India and abroad in various training programs for eye care personnel at different levels.
